A man died in a road smash near a popular Denbighshire pub on Saturday night, police have said. The crash involved a car and a motorbike on the A539 near the Sun Trevor, Llangollen.
North Wales Police (NWP) officers were called to the scene at 6.38pm last night (December 2). Despite work by Welsh Ambulance Service paramedics, sadly the motorcyclist passed away.
The man’s next of kin and the local Coroner’s office have been informed. NWP Roads Crime Unit officers now want to hear from passing motorists and other witnesses. One driver in particular is being sought as they may be a key witness.

PC Jo Roberts said: “We are appealing for any witnesses, especially those with dashcam to contact us. We are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a white panel van, who may have witnessed the incident.”
The road was closed at the time and motorists were asked by police to avoid the area. Local drivers reported being diverted along the A5 having seen seeing several emergency vehicles at the crash scene.

As well as paramedics and traffic officers, local police officers were called to the accident,. The road was finally reopened at around 2.20am.
