The A5104 was closed in both directions by an accident near Penmynydd, Flintshire, this morning.

Traffic has also eased and 'returned to normal' on the southbound A483 near the A55 Posthouse roundabout after earlier congestion

Town centre congestion

Most roads in the region are running freely, though some town centres are congested as people head to the shops.

As well as the A5104 at Penmynydd, Flintshire, an exception is the eastbound A55 at Britannia Bridge.

Traffic Wales is warning of possible delays crossing the bridge as congestion builds - a daily event.

There’s also a heads-up of likely congestion in Wrexham this afternoon, when Wrexham AFC host Yeovil Town in an FA Cup second-round tie at the STōK Cae Ras.

Inrix says....

Kick off is at 3.45pm. Expect extra traffic on Mold Road and Regent Street until 7pm on December 3.

Alternative routes

A detour will be needed for some people using the A5104 to reach Broughton Retail Park for Christmas shopping.

The road is blocked both ways near Penmynydd, with road sensors showing Penyffordd apparently busier than normal.

Thick fog

As you can see from these A55 photos from Traffic Wales, parts of the region's road network are shrouded in thick fog.

Extra caution is being advised.
