A popular chip shop in a seaside town in North Wales has closed. The Bay Fish and Chips in Colwyn Bay had been run by Craig and Sarah for the last four years.

Based on Sea View Road in the town it had served thousands of people and gone through the turbulence of Covid and then the cost of living crisis. But the owners have now taken up new "fantastic" job opportunities.

They thanked their customers for their support over the past four years.

They wrote on Facebook: "We are very sorry to announce that we have closed our doors for the last time. Many thanks for your custom over the last four years, we’ve enjoyed serving every single one of you. We have both been offered fantastic job opportunities and already started our new positions, hence closing the doors a bit sooner than expected.

"Once again, thank you for choosing us for your fish and chips, roast dinners, vegan options and gluten free meals. Once things have settled down we will turn this page into a local information page, soon please stay with us."
