The operators at an Eryri cafe dubbed an "institution" for walkers have announced their next venture. Last month the people who run Caffi Moel Siabod in Capel Curig posted that they would be leaving in January.

They said they would not be renewing the lease after 12 years at the site. The cafe had previously been run by the owners of the building and it is not yet known what is planned for the cafe unit once the operators leave.

But the current operators Paul, Dorina and Gaby have now revealed where they plan to relocate to. They said they've reached a deal to take on the fisheries cafe at Eisteddfa Fishery, Pentrefelin, Criccieth.

They will also place the mobile food truck outside Cobden's hotel in Capel Curig from the start of 2024.

The operators said: "We are now delighted to be able to confirm the next step of our moving forward. Working with Tom and Jane Carey-Evans, proprietors of the Eisteddfa Fishery, Pentrefelin, Criccieth, we will soon be taking over the running of their Fisheries Cafe.

"We are really excited about this new venture which is in an idyllic location with outstanding views over the fisheries' lakes and beyond to the Hebogs' as well as the iconic climbers destination of Tremadog Rocks. More details will follow over the coming weeks."
