As Storm Debi made its way across the Irish Sea this morning, the coast of Gwynedd was battered with gale force winds. Gusts of 77mph were recorded at Aberdaron at around 7am - the highest recorded in Wales so far today.

The winds were so strong that a waterfall on the rocky shoreline west of the town was actually blown upstream. Footage of the unusual sight taken from Mynydd y Gwyddel showed the waterfall being blown back up the Marilyn.

Instead of cascading down to Porth Felan below, the waterfall barely makes it over the edge as it's blown into the sky and transformed into a cloud of mist, blowing in the opposite direction.

Storm Debi has since made its way towards Scotland, though a yellow weather warning for wind remains in place in North Wales until 6pm today. Residents have been warned of travel disruption and potential power cuts as a result of the strong gusts caused by a very strong jet stream crossing the Atlantic overnight.

The Met Office has warned of wind speeds up to 80mph on the coast, with possible travel disruption, power cuts and "danger to life" from flying debris and from waves and beach material "thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties". A Met Office forecast said: "Storm Debi is expected to develop and move across Ireland and northern England on Monday.
