At 11am today the centre of Caernarfon fell silent to remember the millions that have lost their lives in combat, for Remembrance Sunday.

In another poignant ceremony at the town's cenotaph, civic dignitaries, the military, police officers and members of the public became one in silent reflection, as wars continue to bring heartbreak, death and devastation around the world.

And despite the grim reality of the world today, with continuing battles, including the now long-running war between Ukraine and Russia and now Israel and Palestine, leaving its terrible scars on people, decimating villages, towns, cities and lives in their wake - there was a quiet symbol of hope, not only in Caernarfon, as wreathes were laid at the cenotaph - but in services across North Wales and the rest of the UK.

People will continue to remember those that have died in conflict, as they will press for world-wide peace and an end to the suffering caused by war.
