This picture shows a Land Rover partly submerged in the sea off the North Wales coast. The vehicle became stranded in the Abersoch area.

Images were posted on the Abersoch Appreciation group's Facebook page. It is unlikely that the car could be removed until low tide which is not until this evening.

HM Coastguard said it was told there was a vehicle on the beach at 9.15am today. No-one was in the car but there was a risk of pollution from fuel.

Abersoch RNLI were asked to mark the location with a buoy as it was a potential hazard to people in the area but eventually it became too submerged. The coastguard said low water will be at 6pm this evening when it will become visible again.

The identity of the driver is not known. One observer Alun Davies on the Abersoch Appreciation Page Facebook page saw the funny side by quipping: "Oi you can't park that there."
