McDonald's is tipped for a North Wales restaurant site. Pizza Hut shut its second North Wales restaurant in a matter of weeks when it closed its unit in Queensferry on Deeside in October.

It followed the closure of the site in Wrexham which is being taken over by McDonald's. Now the chain is tipped to also take on the Queensferry restaurant.

Plans are in to revamp the site. Full details are not yet released but the agent is Planware Ltd - a firm that regularly handles applications for McDonald's. The chain - which has a restaurant in the nearby Asda store - say they don't have information to release at the moment.

The application is for a "refurbishment of the shopfront with the repainting of the windows, door frames and cladding." It adds: "Minor elevation changes to include removal of doorways, with the installation of a new door, new windows and walls to be rendered to match existing. Introduction of three no. cycle racks and patio furniture with associated works to the site."

It will be decided by planners at Flintshire council. More details on the plans will be released on the Flintshire council site in the next few days.
