A busy A-road has been closed after a crash.

North Wales Police shut the A539 between Llangollen and Trevor around 7pm.

They have asked drivers to avoid the area.

Road to be closed for hours

Police have posted that the road is expected to be closed until at least midnight after the crash this evening.

Yellow weather warning in place

Traffic Wales say a weather warning is in place for snow and ice from 6pm tonight until 12pm tomorrow.

They added: "Stay safe by planning ahead and adjusting your driving to the weather."

Traffic diverted

One driver said they were diverted on to the A5 due to the crash.

They reported seeing several emergency vehicles at the scene.

North Wales Police said: "Due to a Road Traffic Collision not far from the Sun Trevor Hotel the A539 between Llangollen and Trevor is currently closed. Please avoid the area for the time being. Thank you for your co-operation."
