Program Information
Overview:
The Master of Arts in Sanskrit (MAS) program offers immersive study in Sanskrit, progressing students from proficiency to mastery. Taught entirely in Sanskrit, it transforms enthusiasts into scholars who can rigorously engage with Hindu knowledge systems. Emphasizing the importance of learning Sanskrit for direct access to source texts, the program allows students to explore spiritual, literary, and scientific works without relying on translations. Through research and practice, students apply insights from the Vedas, Vedānta, Itihāsa, Purāṇas, and other texts, while also preparing for doctoral studies in Hindu Studies. The program is offered in collaboration with MIT- IIKS https://mitiiks.org.in
Curriculum Structure
It is a 48- quarter credit (16 courses) degree for those who have a Bachelor’s degree. This program offers flexible completion options. Learners can choose to complete it in two years with four courses per semester or extend their studies to four years with two courses per semester to better suit their schedule.

Applicants must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution. As part of the admission application process, candidates are required to submit transcripts that provide a comprehensive academic record, encompassing all completed undergraduate and graduate coursework.
